Here’s my final post about my winter deep clean.

Entryway/Dining Room

Cleaning:

As with the other rooms, I dusted (including the baseboards), spot cleaned the walls (especially near light switches and the door), and vacuumed. I also cleared off and cleaned the table and desk (which I currently use as a entryway table), washed the shoe rug, and scrubbed the frame inside of the door frame (which apparently collects ridiculous amounts of dust and dirt).

Organization:

I sorted and reorganized the coat closet, mended the seam of a hoodie that has been hanging over a chair for a while, and rearranged items on the bulletin board. I also got a storage box for my winter (non-coat) items to put on the top shelf of my coat closet and a door blocker for the bottom of my front door to help block sounds and smells from getting in.

Kitchen

Cleaning:

I cleaned intake vent and top of the fridge, wiped down the cabinet doors, scrubbed the counters, and spot cleaned the walls. I also thoroughly scrubbed (inside and out) the toaster oven, stove, microwave, fridge, freezer, trash can, and recycling bin. Finally, I scrubbed the baseboards and floor and washed the rug. I intended to clean the inside of the oven, but by the time I got around to it, I was already making plans to move in 2019, so didn’t think it was worth the effort and time.

Organization:

I sorted and reorganized all of my drawers and cabinets, making sure to get rid of expired foods!

I got new storage canisters for my dry goods, as the ones I had weren’t airtight. I got rid of napkins altogether (I know, millennials are killing the napkin business, *eye roll*). Finally, I rearranged the things on my counters to create more space for cooking.

Loose Ends

I cleaned out the trunk and glove box of my car, donated a pile of stuff that was weeded out throughout my deep clean process, and I got rid of old tech stuff at a neighborhood donation collection event.

I’ll be taking the month of May off from writing this blog, so that I can focus my time and energy into moving and getting set up in my new home, so look out for a new post at the end of June! (And there's no duck in the picture because they are all packed!)
