I am moving in May, so I am accelerating the timeline of my winter deep clean posts!

First up, the bathroom (and linen closet).

Cleaning:

- I started by taking down the outer shower curtain and putting it in the laundry.

- I then vacuumed the floor, the mat outside of my shower, my trash can (which happens to be a fur covered duck), and the air intake vent.

- Finally, I scrubbed everything, literally from floor to ceiling - floor, baseboards, toilet, sink, tub, shower mat, walls, shower tiles, mirrors, cabinet doors, door handles, light switches, and my plethora of rubber ducks.

Organization:

- I took everything out of the bathroom cabinets and linen closet and wiped down all of the shelves.

- Rearranged all of the items back into the closets, taking care to throw away expired products and medications.

And now for the living room.

Cleaning:

- First thing I did was wash all of the blankets and pillow covers (of which I have a lot - I’m big on comfort).

- I emptied the shredder - I don’t do this as often as a should because I hate doing it. Small pieces of paper always get everywhere, no matter how careful I am!

- I dusted everything including the baseboards, vacuumed the floor and the couch, spot cleaned the walls, and cleaned the vent.

- Finally, I wiped clean the windows, blinds, and my three glass topped tables.

Organization:

- I scanned carefully over all of my books and DVDs, weeding out items that I was not interested in owning anymore.

- I pulled out everything from my various storage and supply drawers to start with a clean slate. I then rearranged all of the items back into the drawers, taking time to throw out items that are no longer functional or necessary. I also got a few plastic dividers from the Container Store to help keep items arranged neatly within the drawers!

- I restored my old printer, Mac, and Time Capsule to factory settings so I could recycle them, as they have already been replaced or become obsolete.

I will wrap up my deep clean next month, with the kitchen, dining room, and loose ends!
